If your headphone cable is the wrong length or has the wrong plug on it, this is where to fix it. We build custom headphone cables by hand in Livingston, Montana, and each one is typically built the same day you order or the next business day.
They won't change how your headphones sound. The cable that came in the box already gets the signal to the drivers intact, so what a new one changes is the length, the plug and how it handles. What cables can and can't do has the long version.
What Standard means
The label on a cable says how it's built: the wire, the sleeve, the plugs and how they're joined. Standard is Mogami W2893, a thin four-conductor cable, with no outer sleeve. The HD 600 and HD 650 cable and the 3.5mm extension are Standard. The Balanced Stock Cable is Sennheiser's own cable and a re-termination is yours, so neither carries a label.

Pick the plug your amp has
The Balanced Stock Cable comes with one of the three balanced plugs, 4-pin XLR, 4.4mm or 2.5mm, and keeps Sennheiser's length. The Standard HD 600 and HD 650 cable takes any of the five below, in 4, 6 or 10 feet: four for a portable player or a desk you sit close to, six to give a desk some slack, and ten to reach across a room. The extension is 3.5mm at both ends, in the same three lengths. A re-termination can put any of the five on a cable you already have.
4-pin XLR. The large locking balanced plug, and the most common balanced output on desktop headphone amps.
4.4mm Pentaconn. The newer, smaller balanced plug, on portable players and compact desktop amps.
6.35mm TRS. The quarter-inch stereo plug. Most desktop headphone amps and audio interfaces take it.
3.5mm TRS. The small stereo plug. Phones that still have a headphone jack, laptops, portable players and a lot of small DACs.
2.5mm TRRS. An older balanced plug on some portable players. If yours has a 4.4mm output as well, that's the sturdier plug.

Keep the cable, change the plug
If the cable you already have is fine and only the plug is wrong, we'll cut it off and put the right one on: balanced if your amp has a balanced output, 6.35mm or 3.5mm if it doesn't. The work starts when your cable arrives.
Going balanced needs a separate pair of wires to each earcup. A cable that runs to both cups usually has them, and one that goes into a single cup often doesn't. Tell us what you have before you send anything, and we'll say whether it can be done and where to send it.
It's your cable built to your spec, so it's final sale. If our work on it fails within thirty days, we repair it and pay the shipping both ways.

Before you order
Not on headphones like the HD 600 and HD 650. The cable that came with them already gets the signal to the drivers intact, so a new one changes the length, the plug and how it handles. The exception is in-ear monitors with several drivers and a low impedance, where the resistance of any cable is a bigger share of what the amp drives and can shift the balance a little. What cables can and can't do has the long version.
Only if your amp has a balanced output and you want to use it. The cable is what lets you plug into it. If your amp only has a 6.35mm or 3.5mm jack, a balanced cable has nothing to plug into.
If it's faulty, yes: if anything we build fails within thirty days, we repair it, replace it or refund it, and we pay the shipping both ways. Otherwise no. We build each cable after it's ordered, so it's final sale, and you can cancel for a full refund any time before we start. The refund policy has the full terms.
Often, yes. Email us the headphone and the plug you want, and we'll tell you whether we have the connector for it and confirm every detail with you before we start.
