Why it is here

For a headphone whose cable is fine and just too short. It goes between the plug you have and the jack you're reaching for, and it works with anything that ends in a 3.5mm stereo plug. It's wired stereo, so a headset's microphone won't come through it. This is the Standard build: Mogami W2893, with no outer sleeve. It's meant for headphones. On in-ear monitors with several drivers and a low impedance, the extra length of wire can shift the balance a little.
What it is for

Wired headphones and a desk, a TV or a keyboard that sits further away than their cable reaches.
