Why it is here

Grado spent thirty years not replacing the HP1, and then replaced it properly. New 52mm driver with a paper composite cone and a copper-plated aluminium voice coil, a hand-machined aluminium housing instead of wood, a new headband, and the first detachable cable the company has ever shipped. That last point matters more than it sounds: a fixed cable has retired more Grados than any driver failure. It ships with both G and F cushions.
How it is built

52mm dynamic driver with a paper composite cone, rare earth magnetic circuit and copper-plated aluminium voice coil, matched to 0.04 dB. Hand-machined aluminium housing in space grey, 12-conductor detachable cable on 4-pin mini XLR, G and F cushions included. Hand assembled in Brooklyn.
