Why it is here

The Platinum4 keeps the Opus4's bonded elliptical diamond and aluminium cantilever and changes what's around them. The body is Mediterranean olive instead of maple, reshaped, Grado says, to give you a clearer view of the cantilever when you align it, and the copper inside is 6N, one more nine of purity than the Opus4's 5N.

It weighs 9.4 grams, about a gram more than the Opus4, and its output and electrical figures match the Opus4's.

The diamond is still bonded, a small tip on a metal shank. For a whole stone set straight into the cantilever, look at the Sonata4.

How it is built

Mediterranean olive wood body. Bonded elliptical diamond on an aluminium cantilever, 6N OCC copper coils, 9.4 grams.

What it is for

An arm that can balance 9.4 grams. Take high output (4.0 mV) for a moving magnet phono input, or low output (1.0 mV) for a moving coil input set to 10k to 47k ohms.
