Why it is here

Grado's case for a mono cartridge is that your mono records will play quieter on one.

It shares the Prestige cartridges' moving iron design and 6 gram black molded body, marked M+, with its own generator: Grado quotes 4 mV at 3.54 cm/s, a slightly hotter figure than the Green4's 4 mV at 5 cm/s. The diamond is a polished elliptical, it tracks at 1.5 grams, and the stylus pulls out in one piece when it's worn.

It doesn't replace your stereo cartridge. Stereo records still want a stereo one, so the ME+ goes on a second headshell or a second arm, or you swap it in and re-align it each time you change over.
How it is built

A mono moving iron generator in a molded body. Polished elliptical diamond in a brass bushing on Grado's four-piece cantilever, oxygen-free copper coils, 6 grams.
