Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong: Ella and Louis

The first of three albums Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong made together for Verve, recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood in August 1956. Norman Granz produced it and chose eleven ballads, and Armstrong had the final say on songs and keys. The band is Oscar Peterson on piano, Herb Ellis on guitar, Ray Brown on bass and Buddy Rich on drums. Phil Stern took the cover photograph.
